Welcome to my website of Christian artwork! My name is Jason Robichau and for the past six years I have been pursuing a career that incorporates two of my passions: sports and art. I have been a Christian for most, if not all, of my life but it wasn't until recently that I felt led to do some Christian artwork. Some needs arose in my church group that I feel God has led me to act upon through my artwork, which I describe in "The Mission" portion of this website. I have recently completed 3 new Christmas themed paintings in addition to the ten scripture paintings from last year. I tried to represent the theme of each scripture purely without sugar-coating or watering them down. I hope that you enjoy the tour of my website and I hope that you will email me your comments on my artwork.
Sincerely,
Over a two month period, I felt God was leading me to do Christian artwork to support Christian organizations and churches. It was not until a couple of months ago that I realized what and how I could use my talents to raise funds. In my studio one day, I decided to play around with oil paints that I had sitting around on a piece of board. During the process, I noticed that some pencil marks that were on the board showed through the paint. All of a sudden I wrote GOD in bold letters on the board and painted over it and low and behold, it appeared through the paint. Then it hit me that I could do different themed scriptures. The first three that came to mind were Grace, Faith, and Salvation.
Now that I have the paintings, my idea is to sale prints of each painting to raise money for different churches and Christian organizations. With the support of Young Life, we are selling lithograph (paper) prints of the first 5 scripture paintings for $25 per print with $15 going into a fund to bring kids to Young Life Camp. With my wife being a former Young Life leader in college, shes told me the amazing transformation that she witnessed from kids that attended camp and the effect that it had on their lives afterwards. Our mission is to raise enough money so that we send as many kids from Southeast Texas to camp to hear Gods word and the opportunity to turn their life over to Him. I hope that you enjoy these paintings and can help us with this mission.
God Bless!
My name is Jason Robichau and I am a 31-year-old artist from Houston, Texas. All of my life I have had a fascination with recreating life on to a piece of paper. So, naturally, after college (I graduated with a degree in business) I decided to become an artist. However, the road to becoming a successful artist is not paved so I spent approximately one year struggling until I decided that I needed to get a job. I took a job with the Houston Rockets working in sales (the complete opposite lifestyle of an artist). After 8 months I decided that the working world was not for me so I decided to quit my job and pursue my passion and dream in life. Since quitting, over 7 years ago, God has blessed me with many open doors that have brought me around the nation, meeting incredible people. My credo in life is that God has blessed me with the gift of different talents and what I do with those talents is my gift to God. So in turn, I decided to use my talents to help those that are less fortunate. Over the past 7 years, I have been involved with many different charity events around the nation in which my paintings have raised nearly $400,000.
I view myself as a self-taught artist. Even though I have taken many art classes in my life, I believe that creativity and the ability to create artwork is not something that can be taught. I contribute my progression as an artist to hard work and the simple technique of trial & error. Whenever I get a crazy idea into my head about a new technique or a new subject, I tend to try it out to see where it takes me. I have to be honest though and say that it doesnt always work out as pictured in my head but every once in a while I stumble across something great.
