Artist Statement

Growing up in Houston and being a lifelong Astros fan, their are two names that fit together so perfectly and it feels weird to say one without the other: Biggio and Bagwell. From the moment that they arrived in Houston, both became instant fan favorites. Biggio for the way that he played the game with grit and tenacity, his willingness to do whatever it took to help the Astros win whether it be playing catcher, second base, or the outfield. Bagwell for his immense talent, his ability to hit home runs as well as steal bases, and for his laid back attitude. I've been wanting to do these paintings for quite a while and I'm glad that I was finally able to paint these two Astros' greats!  I hope that you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed painting it!
